Hooded

The face of a woman is cloaked within the heavy folds of a hood, her expression a delicate balance between ethereal beauty and guarded distance. Many characters I have drawn throughout my life embodied this symbolism, which I now understand was my way of expressing my autistic need to mask. Masking, like the cloak, allows for social safety while simultaneously hiding the authentic self. But never forget, there is a vibrant inner world that remains.
